Gioia On The River
Went there for a small dinner with friends after our wedding. We had the set menu which has a really good range of options. The service is amazing with the staff always close at hand, including the owner which made the experience extra special. The amazing views of the river and the closeby park make it a great spot for a romantic cozy dinner. The pastas were all exceptionally full of flavour including for me the squid ink. Thank you for making our evening special.

Romantic candlelit dinner for 2 looking over the river at the Gioia Italian restaurant. The best way to celebrate our anniversary! They organised a table last minute and made us very welcome! Friendly attentive staff. Had a wonderful meal beautifully cooked and absolutely delicious!Thanks for making our anniversary so brilliant!

We came across this little gem walking past, the ambience and location is perfect for a romantic dinner.The staff were very friendly and attentive.We were both looking for a seafood type pasta and were disappointed when it wasn’t on the menu, which we found hard to find something we wanted but we had already committed and the view was stunning.We got the steak and the chicken.I tried my friends steak it had a nice char on the outside which was lovely and the beetroot purée went well with it.The sauce on the chicken was creamy and incredibly tasty I would have liked more, the carrots and beans were cooked perfectly.The chicken was ok, a little on the dry side and it was a small half chicken and really overpriced for what it was, it was something I could have made at home.But it was a lovely experience with friendly staff, pity about the menu.

Went to celebrate a birthday at this Italian fine dining restaurant situated right on the waterfront. Very nice views to be seated outside. Service was good. The entrees were not that pleasant but the mains are very good portions and very tasty. I would highly recommend the snapper with mashed potatoes and eggplant and the seafood marinara was amazing. The only downfall is they don't have a kid's menu and no high chairs available either. But overall a nice family outing.

Staff are very judging of dietary requirements and allergies. Question if you leave food on the plate. Food was okay only one good dish out if the five tried. Drinks are overpriced $44 a bottle are non alcoholic wine! Seating was crowded. Evening wasn’t memorable for a restaurant experience. Wouldn’t bother with a return visit.

Beautiful seating area outside on the water in East Perth canal. The service was good and the food was even better! The photo of my dish turned out blurry so I was only able to post what I could, but it was tasty trust me!

Beautiful location. Beautiful food. Lovely staff! Peppercorn sauce with steak was delicious but not enough on the plate. Bruschetta lovely, but small.Menu quite small. Mostly seafood dishes. No scallops on the menu :(Constructive feedback:When you lose an order (for whatever reason) just tell us that it will be 10 minutes instead of pretending like it was already on its way, rushing out a steak in 2 minutes, that had barely seen heat and trying to cover it up. That way I wouldn’t have had to send it back blue and I wouldn’t have had to eat alone in front of my date who had finished their pasta already.

We just celebrated a friend’s 50th Wedding Anniversary, food amazing, staff more amazing thank you for a wonderful experience, offered free parking and a surprise complimentary sweets with our coffee. What more can I say. Definite try with great views.

Good Italian restaurant in East Perth.The environment is wonderful with the swan river view.Grilled chicken looks like small but it was enough for me.Gnocchi well prepared and tasty.I recommend this place.
